Hi babes! I’m so excited to share today’s little interview with you!
I had the chance to chat with my girl, Baylor Wilson: Contestant on ‘Survivor San Juan Del Sur‘ (AKA: The latest season), Singer/Songwriter, and major #GIRLBOSS of today. Baylor is just absolutely killing it. She’s down-to-earth, has an incredible natural charisma & some super-chill vibes… even though her life seems crazy busy!
I met Baylor through my best friend, Maggie (<< lolz, hi maggs), in our awk-as-hell middle-school days. Even back then, Baylor was full of confidence and had this self-assured energy about her… which is so rare/special for that age. She’s magnetic, driven, passionate…. & talented, obviously. It’s almost annoying how badass she is…. like, stop it right now. Enough is enough! Baylor is such a
perfect must-have addition to my ‘People I Love‘ series (<< how do I know so many seriously cool girls??? They’re really getting shit done. I love it.).
Also, Can we just address the elephant in the room here: HOW IS THIS GIRL SO DANG HOTT? I mean, this madness has got to stop. And her mega-babe Momma? Absolutely unreal genetics going on in this fab fam. Lets just get down the business before I have a panic attack, okay?
Y’all meet Baylor:
» Introduce yourself
Hey I’m Baylor! I wasn’t named after Baylor University, in fact I wasn’t even accepted… ha! I am from Dallas, Texas. I’m twenty one years old and I love writing songs, going to Yoga, and sleeping (when I find the time).
» How did you prepare for ‘Survivor’?
The only preparation I had for survivor involved binge watching… My mom and I were the last couple cast on our season so we only had a month before we left for the show. [<< IDK about you guys, but I’d be a little nervous if I would’ve been in this situation (!!)]
» Was being on the show what you expected it to be?
Being on the show was NOTHING like what I expected… It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done/been through in my entire life. There is no true preparation that will help you… The people were all the exact opposite from me. I always explain to people that it’s like being on an island with 17 other people who have the exact opposite personality than you… which is difficult.
» How has your life changed since you took part in the ‘Survivor’ experience?
Life has changed drastically… Not only am I recognized often in public by Survivor fans, but I also understand the world and people even more than I did before. I am more grateful and thankful than ever before for the simplest things that we take for granted – running water, soap, socks, a toothbrush, etc.
» What are your go-to beauty products/tips? You were stranded in the middle of nowhere, and you still looked hot with those cameras all in your face. We gotta know!
I actually don’t use many beauty products… Surprisingly. I am more of a natural type of girl. However, the producers of Survivor did provide us with some sunscreen which did at least protect my skin (thank God). [<<< Ummm.. what?? I hate my life……]
» Are we going to see any more of you (& your HOTTTIE BISCOTTI MOM) on TV?
This is always a possibility… I tell people 2014 was definitely my TV year as I was at blind auditions for The Voice as well… [<< Could this be a little hint, oooooooor?]
» When did you develop a serious passion for music?
I started developing a passion for songwriting in high school and soon picked up a guitar to accompany myself. I’ve been performing my entire life though with cheerleading and dancing… Music came into the picture as my therapy through some family dysfunction, which everyone can relate to.
» Do you enjoy singing/performing or songwriting more?
I enjoy songwriting so so much, but there’s nothing like getting on that stage and sharing what I’ve written.
» What is involved in your songwriting process?
It’s different every time I write… But I’ve been doing a lot more co-writing these last few years (which is very fun). Basically, we start with an idea or melody and see where it goes from there. A lot of the time, the idea we start with has nothing to do with what we end with.
» Which song if your absolute FAVORITE so far?
I would say ‘Turn Around’ or ‘Daddy’s Girl’ are some of my favorite song’s I’ve ever written… However, my favorite is usually the most recent song I’ve written.
» What keeps you inspired & motivated? What gets you through the stagnant or low periods?
Other people’s stories or situations keeps me motivated… As well as my own life circumstances and relationships (of course).
Whatttta Badass, Amirite? Can’t get enough of Baylor Wilson?

Until next time xx
