Hi babes!

I’m comin’ at ya from the hair salon right now. Getting my mop chopped for the first time in almost a year today, so we’ll see how that goes. PS: I’m at my favorite LA spot for haircuts: Spoke & Weal in West Hollywood. I recommend this place if you’re in Los Angeles!

I’m for real when I say my ‘office’ is literally anywhere I want it to be. As long as there is wifi available, you can expect to see me with my laptop in-hand.

So today is all about the newest addition to my morning routine: my anti-inflammatory wellness shot.

I started doing this a few weeks ago when I felt like TOTAL ass due to a mix of allergies & a sinus infection. Personally, I have issues with chronic inflammation, which plays a starring role in almost every disease you don’t want, so taking my morning wellness shot has become a daily to-do.

Mmmmm…. chronic inflammation…. super sexxxyy, right?

For the H+H wellness shot, I pulled a few ingredients from a shot I like at Earthbar, & I added a few of my own.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED


Apple Cider Vinegar ( 1 tablespoon ): the raw & organic kind! This acidic compound reduces bloating, helps you feel fuller longer, regulates blood sugar levels & aids in nutrient absorption. ACV is a killer health hack if you have stomach problems ( AKA: my life since birth ). ( source )

Lemon ( 1 to taste ): lemon juice is filled with vitamins & nutrients, and it masks some of the ACV taste! ( source ) I always squeeze half a lemon in my morning water too.

Turmeric ( 1 small dash ): turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory & could prevent chronic diseases like cancer & alzheimer’s. It also increases the body’s antioxidant capacity. ( source )

Ginger ( 1 small dash ): reduces nausea & inflammation. ( source )

Cayenne ( 1 X-small dash ): a spicy lil detoxifier! I put this in my morning water too.

It’s IMPORTANT to note that I mix all of the ingredients up & add 1-2 tablespoons of water in a small cup or shot glass ( woooooo, party girl! ).

I’m going to be honest…. it does NOT taste great. I recommend shooting it like tequila ( I don’t think its anywhere near as nast as tequila, for the record ), because the spices can be a little much to hold in your mouth for too long.

AKA: you might breathe flames if you don’t shoot it.

Also, I always chase it with water.

Yes, it’s a little gross, but less than two seconds of grossness later, you’ll be done & on your way to feeling detoxified. I think it’s so worth it.
