Palm Springs Prep | How I Packed for the Desert

Palm Springs Prep: What to pack for a week in the desert with Hustle + Halcyon

I headed out to Palm Springs on a couple of weeks ago, & I got to hang around the cutie desert town for almost a week.

It was supposed to be a mid-week-getaway kind of trip, though my stay lasted longer than expected ( & I am NOT complaining about it, that’s for sure ). I found that I packed really well for a few days away, so I’ve partnered with Dove and Simply to share with y’all how I packed a week’s worth of outfits in a bag almost equivalent in size to a carry-on.

With EXTRA room left over. *Pats self on the back*

I started with my cutie rolling DVF suitcase ( similar here ), because it’s not TOO BIG, so it keeps my over-packing tendencies in control. Shocking, right?

The desert is super hot during the day, but gets chilly at night, so packing for Palm Springs means bringing cold & hot weather outfits.

For sunny days in the Palm Springs sun, I brought:

2 fun, flowing maxi dresses
a mini dress
my classic cut-off shorts
a loose, comfy linen button-down
a basic v-neck tee
a pair of adidas tennis shoes
a pair of simple brown booties
a very Palm-Springs-esque hat
2 fun-printed swimsuits

For nights spent drinking margs at the Ace Hotel, I packed:

my new “no thanks” bomber jacket
a striped cardigan/shawl
my custom “Hustle + Halcyon” denim jacket
a pair of high-rise jeans
a simple, striped button-up blouse
a pair of heeled booties

I also packed some lounge-wear like a hoodie, comfy shorts, leggings & 2 big tees to sleep in.

My clothing packing list was AMAZING for throwing together a number of outfits using the items I brought. Honestly, feeling like a genius packing-hacker over here.

As far as cosmetics & skincare goodies, I try to pack light when heading out of town for just a couple of days.

I packed:

face wash in a travel sized bottle
micellar water in a travel-sized bottle
extra-hydrating facial moisturizer & body lotion ( to combat the desert dryness )
extra-strong facial sunscreen

One of the most IMPORTANT packing-musts for a weekend in Palm Springs is my Dove Dry Spray Antipersperant. This might be TMI ( …but since when am I worried about sharing too much info with y’all….? ): my armpit sweat is OUT OF CONTROL.

I’ve been using this antiperspirant for YEARS now, & it’s the only thing that actually works for me.

Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant goes on instantly dry and provides 48 hours of odor and wetness protection with all the care of Dove.

A must for a weekend away in the desert…. & I think the people I shared a house with in Palm Springs would agree with me on that one, LOL.

As far as makeup, I packed:

light with tinted-moisturizer ( with MORE SPF! )
lip balm
beauty blender

Less is more.

Luckily for me, OTHER people planned the logistics on where we were staying ( totally recommend using AirBnb to get a house here, btw! ), how we were getting around, where we were eating, etc.

I can’t wait to share more with y’all about the trip! I hope those of you who came along on snapchat enjoyed the week, too.

Talk soon. xx
